What a Reiki Box is, who it is for, and why Reiki Level 2 practitioners use it.

Hi, my name is Daniela, and I want to personally welcome you, to my online school, and my world.
A Reiki Box is a simple tool used in Reiki Level 2 distance healing.
It helps you focus your intention when sending Reiki to someone who is not physically with you.
You can think of it as a special place for your healing intention.
You write a person’s name on a small piece of paper, or place a photo inside the box, connect to Reiki, and send the energy with focus and care.
One of the beautiful things about a Reiki Box is that you can place more than one name or photo inside.
This makes it helpful when you want to send Reiki to several people, situations, or intentions at the same time.
The box itself does not “do” the healing. Reiki flows through your connection, your intention, and the Reiki practice you have learned.
The box simply gives your intention a clear focus and creates a dedicated space for your distance Reiki work.
I teach Reiki Box work inside my Reiki Level 2 training because it is a practical and meaningful way to work with the Reiki symbols, distance healing, and focused intention.
You do not need anything fancy to create a Reiki Box. The most important part is your intention and your connection to Reiki.
You will need:
✨ A small wooden box
✨ Small pieces of paper, or photos
✨ A pen
✨ Optional: paint, stickers, crystals, Reiki symbols, or anything meaningful to you
You can decorate your Reiki Box, paint it, add symbols, or leave it completely plain.
It does not have to look perfect. What matters most is that it feels like a special place for your Reiki intention.

Before you begin using your Reiki Box, you may want to cleanse it and set a clear intention.
This helps the box feel ready, focused, and dedicated to distance Reiki.
Step 1:
Cleanse the Box Choose a cleansing method that feels simple and natural to you.
You can:
✨ Wipe the box gently
✨ Tidy the space around it
✨ Use sound, such as clapping, a bell, or a singing bowl
✨ Use smoke cleansing, if it is safe in your space
✨ Draw the Reiki symbols over the box
This does not have to be complicated. The purpose is simply to create a fresh start.
Step 2:
Set the Intention Hold your hands over the Reiki Box and connect to Reiki.
Then say something simple, such as:
“You are now a Reiki Box for distance Reiki.”
You can also add:
“Only love can go in. May this Reiki healing be for the highest and best well-being of all involved.”
Take a moment to feel the intention settle. Your Reiki Box is now ready to use.
Once your Reiki Box is prepared, you can begin using it for distance Reiki.
1. Write the person’s name on a small piece of paper.
You can also add their birthdate, location, or the time they would like to receive Reiki, if this feels helpful.
2. Place the paper inside the Reiki Box and close the lid.
You can also use a photo instead of a name, or add a photo together with the name.
3. Take a moment to ground yourself and connect to Reiki.
Set a clear and loving intention for the Reiki to flow for the person’s highest and best well-being.
4. Draw the Reiki Level 2 symbols over the box, as you have learned, and say the mantras.
5. Hold your hands over the box, or gently hold the box in your hands.
6. Send Reiki into the box for about 10 minutes, or longer if you feel guided to continue.
Trust your intuition. Reiki practice does not have to feel complicated. The Reiki Box simply gives your intention a clear focus and helps you work with distance Reiki in a practical way.
You can also use your Reiki Box to send Reiki to a future time.
This can be helpful when someone would like to receive Reiki at a specific moment, but you are not available to send it live at that time.
To do this, write the person’s name on a piece of paper, and also add the date and time they would like to receive Reiki.
You may also add their birthdate, location, or a photo, if this feels helpful.
Place the paper inside the Reiki Box, connect to Reiki, draw the Reiki Level 2 symbols as you have learned, and set the clear intention that the Reiki will be received at the agreed date and time.
This can be a beautiful way to prepare distance Reiki in advance, while still keeping the healing focused, respectful, and intentional.
When sending Reiki to another person, it is important to work with respect and consent.
Whenever possible, ask the person if they would like to receive Reiki and agree on a time.
This helps the person feel open and ready to receive, and it also keeps your Reiki practice clear and respectful.
If you cannot reach the person, you can ask their Higher Self for permission, as you learned in Reiki Level 2.
Then send Reiki only with the intention that it may be received if it is for their highest and best well-being.
For future Reiki, timing is especially important.
If someone wants to receive Reiki at a certain date and time, write this clearly on the paper before placing it inside the Reiki Box.
Try not to send Reiki randomly unless this has already been agreed upon.
A clear intention, respectful consent, and agreed timing help keep the practice grounded and aligned.
A Reiki Box can be used for people, situations, intentions, or future healing moments.
You can place inside:
✨ A person’s name
✨ A photo
✨ A birthdate or location, if helpful
✨ A written intention
✨ A prayer or blessing
✨ A situation that needs healing energy
✨ Your own name
Yes, you can absolutely place your own name inside your Reiki Box too.
Sometimes we are very willing to send healing to others, but we forget to include ourselves.
You can write your own name, add a loving intention, and send Reiki to yourself through the box in the same way.
This can be a beautiful practice for self-care, emotional support, and spiritual connection.
Once you feel comfortable using your Reiki Box, you can make the practice even more meaningful by working with it regularly.
You may want to place your Reiki Box somewhere peaceful, such as on your altar, your Reiki table, or another quiet space where it will not be disturbed.
You can also take a few moments each day, or a few times a week, to send Reiki to the box and renew your intention.
You can also check the papers inside from time to time. Some names or intentions may still feel active, while others may feel complete.
When something feels complete, you can remove the paper with gratitude and release the intention in a respectful way.
This helps keep your Reiki Box clear, focused, and aligned with the healing work you are doing.

A Reiki Box is a simple but meaningful way to work with distance Reiki.
It gives your intention a clear focus and helps you send Reiki in a calm, organized, and heart-centered way.
You do not need to make the practice complicated. Start simply, trust Reiki, and notice how the practice feels for you over time.
The more you work with your Reiki Box, the more personal and powerful it may become as part of your Reiki practice.

The Reiki Box is usually taught in Reiki Level 2, because it works beautifully with distance Reiki and the Reiki Level 2 symbols. If you are new to Reiki, or if you would like to continue your Reiki journey, you can explore my Reiki courses here: 👉 Explore all Reiki courses here.
