The First Call to Mediumship

Have you ever felt that you are more sensitive than other people, or that you sometimes know, feel, hear, or sense things that you cannot easily explain?

For many people, the path into psychic mediumship begins quietly. It may start with a strong intuition, vivid dreams, a feeling that a loved one is near, or a deep inner calling to understand the spiritual world more clearly.

In this Deep Dive, I want to guide you gently through the beginning steps of developing your psychic mediumship skills.

We will look at what psychic mediumship is, how it is different from general psychic ability, why meditation and grounding are so important, how to understand your psychic senses, and how to practise in a safe, ethical, and heart-centred way.

Mediumship is not something to rush. It is a spiritual development path that asks for patience, self-awareness, compassion, and trust.

My intention with this guide is to help you build a strong foundation, so that your intuitive and mediumistic abilities can unfold naturally and with love.

Daniela Hills, Reiki Master Teacher

My Path Into Mediumship

My name is Daniela, and my own path into mediumship started with Reiki.  When I first learned Reiki, I did not even really know what mediumship was. I was simply drawn to healing, energy, and spiritual development. But looking back now, it feels as if I was gently guided by something unseen, step by step, toward learning mediumship.

It started with Reiki, but over time, many of the healing and spiritual methods I studied included some form of intuitive or mediumistic connection.

They were different ways of opening the senses, connecting with energy, receiving guidance, and learning to trust what comes through. I did not plan to become a medium. It unfolded slowly.

The more I worked with energy, healing, and spiritual practices, the more I noticed that information would come to me in ways I could not explain.

Sometimes I sensed things, sometimes I received names, feelings, images, or impressions. Over time, I began to understand that mediumship was not separate from my spiritual path. It was part of how my path was opening.

For me, mediumship was not something I forced. It was something I was led into gently, through Reiki, intuition, Shamanic Journeying, healing work, and trust.

What Is Psychic Mediumship?

Psychic mediumship is the ability to receive impressions, messages, or information from the spirit world and communicate them in a loving and respectful way. A psychic medium acts as a bridge between the physical world and the spiritual world.

This does not mean that the medium controls the connection or forces messages to come through. In my experience, mediumship is more like opening a gentle doorway and allowing information to unfold naturally.

Many people come to mediumship because they are grieving the loss of someone they love. They may hope to feel comfort, reassurance, or a sense that their loved one is still connected to them in spirit.

A mediumship reading can sometimes bring healing, because it may remind us that love does not simply disappear when someone passes.

Mediumship can come through in different ways. Some mediums see inner pictures, some hear words or names, some feel emotions or physical sensations, and some simply know information without knowing how they know it. These are often connected to the psychic senses, such as clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience, and claircognizance.

For beginners, it is important to understand that mediumship usually does not feel like watching a clear movie.
Information often comes in small pieces. You may receive a feeling, a symbol, a word, a memory, or a sudden thought.

Part of developing mediumship is learning how to recognize these impressions and trust them without forcing them. At its heart, mediumship is not about proving something or performing. It is about compassion, healing, and spiritual connection.

Psychic vs Medium: What Is the Difference?

A psychic and a medium both work with intuitive information, and both need to be very aware, present, and open to subtle impressions.

However, they do not always work in the same way.

A psychic usually receives information about a person’s life, energy, emotions, past, present, or possible future.
A psychic may use intuition, inner knowing, feelings, images, or tools such as Tarot cards or oracle cards to receive guidance.

A medium, however, focuses more on connecting with the spirit world. The purpose of mediumship is often to receive messages from loved ones who have passed, spirit guides, or higher spiritual energies. A medium acts like a bridge between this world and the spiritual world.

This is why people often say:
All mediums are psychic, but not all psychics are mediums.

This means that a medium uses psychic senses to receive information, but a psychic does not necessarily focus on communicating with loved ones in spirit.

For example, a psychic may sense that someone is going through an emotional life change, needs to make a decision, or is carrying old energy from the past.
A medium may receive an impression of a grandmother in spirit,  a memory, a personality trait, or a message that brings comfort to the person receiving the reading.

Both psychic work and mediumship can be helpful, but the intention is different.
Psychic work often gives insight, clarity, and guidance. Mediumship focuses more on spiritual connection, healing, and messages from the other side.
At the same time, I do not see the difference as completely rigid.
Psychics can sometimes receive impressions from loved ones in spirit, and mediums can also be aware of the energy, emotions, and soul essence of living people.

For me, mediumship is not only about connecting with loved ones who have passed. It can also be about connecting with the deeper spiritual essence of a living person.

In the end, it is all about intention and focus. What kind of information is needed? What kind of healing is possible? And how can the connection be used in the most loving, respectful, and helpful way?

When you are developing your own abilities, it can be helpful to first understand how your intuition works. Many people begin with general psychic development before they move deeper into mediumship. This gives you a stronger foundation and helps you recognize how information comes to you.

Can Anyone Become a Medium?

Many people say that everyone can become a medium, but I am not completely sure about that.

I do believe that we all have intuition. Some people are very aware of it, some may not pay much attention to it, and some may say it is all “woo-woo.” But from my experience, many people can learn to trust their inner feelings, become more aware of energy, and develop their psychic senses.

Becoming a medium, however, is a little different. Somehow, you need to feel drawn to it. Mediumship asks for something deeper. It asks for sensitivity, patience, practice, emotional balance, and, most importantly, a genuine calling. It can feel as if you are being gently pushed in this direction. This is at least how I experienced it.

If someone has no interest in mediumship, there is no reason to follow this path. But if you feel drawn to it again and again, if you keep thinking about the spirit world, or if you feel that there is more to life than what we can see with our physical eyes, then maybe your soul is guiding you in this direction.

I also feel that when you do a lot of spiritual healing work on yourself, the path can begin to open naturally. This may happen through Reiki, meditation, shamanic work, energy healing, or other spiritual healing methods. Each method can help you become more aware of yourself, your energy, your intuition, and the unseen guidance around you.

If mediumship is part of your calling, I believe you will often be guided step by step. This guidance may come through your spirit guides, through synchronicities, through the healing work you are drawn to, or through life experiences that gently push you to go deeper. Looking back, you may realize that nothing was random. One experience led to another, and each step helped you open more fully to your spiritual path.

For some people, mediumship opens naturally. They may have been sensitive since childhood, had vivid dreams, sensed spirits, or felt connected to loved ones who have passed. For others, the path opens slowly through meditation, Reiki, healing work, intuition development, or spiritual practice.

Mediumship is not something that should be rushed. It is not something where you suddenly think, “Oh, this is cool, I want to do that,” and then force it to happen. Mediumship is not about trying to prove something or becoming special. It is about learning to be a clear, grounded, and compassionate channel for healing and spiritual connection.

So, can everyone become a medium? Maybe not in the same way. But many people can develop their intuition, strengthen their spiritual awareness, and learn how to recognize the subtle ways guidance may come through. From my experience, mediumship often opens through your own spiritual healing work.

And if you have had the ability to sense or communicate with spirits for as long as you can remember, maybe even since childhood, you may still need guidance. Natural sensitivity is a gift, but learning how to use it for others often requires structure, practice, and emotional awareness.

I remember this happening a few times when I was teaching Reiki. Suddenly, I felt a strong presence of a spirit, and when I mentioned it to the students, they knew exactly who it was. I had to learn how to handle situations like that in a sensitive and respectful way, so that the experience could truly bring healing to the grieving person.

If you feel called to mediumship, begin gently. Start with meditation, grounding, self-awareness, and trust. The path will unfold step by step.

How Mediumship Information Comes Through

Mediumship information often comes through in gentle and subtle ways.

It may arrive as a feeling, an inner picture, a word, a name, a memory, a physical sensation, or a quiet knowing.

At first, these impressions may feel very small, and you may wonder if you are making them up. This is normal in the beginning.

Part of mediumship development is learning how your own intuition speaks to you and how to recognize the difference between ordinary thoughts and intuitive impressions.

This is why understanding your psychic senses is such an important part of the development process.

The psychic senses are often called the “clairs.”
The most commonly known ones are clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience, and claircognizance.

The 7 Steps to Developing Your Psychic Mediumship Skills

Mediumship develops step by step. It is not only about opening your psychic senses, but also about becoming grounded, emotionally balanced, spiritually aware, and able to receive information in a loving and respectful way. The following steps can help you build a strong foundation for your mediumship development.

Step 1: Meditation and Mindfulness

Meditation is one of the most important foundations for developing psychic mediumship skills.

When your mind is very busy, stressed, or full of everyday thoughts, it can be difficult to recognize subtle intuitive impressions. Mediumship often comes through gently. It may come as a feeling, a picture, a word, a memory, or a quiet inner knowing. If the mind is too loud, these impressions can easily be missed.

Meditation helps you become still inside. It teaches you to observe your thoughts without immediately reacting to them. Over time, this can help you understand the difference between ordinary thinking, imagination, emotional reaction, and true intuitive guidance.

Mindfulness is also very helpful because it brings you into the present moment. When you are fully present, you become more aware of your body, your energy, your emotions, and the subtle changes around you. This awareness is important for mediumship.

You do not have to meditate for a long time in the beginning. Even five minutes a day can help. Sit quietly, close your eyes if that feels comfortable, and bring your attention to your breath. Notice the air coming in and going out. If thoughts come, simply notice them and gently return to your breathing.

You can also imagine that with every breath in, you receive calm and light. With every breath out, you release stress, tension, and heavy energy.

For me, Reiki was one of the first ways I learned to become quiet, present, and aware of energy.
Reiki helped me understand that spiritual development is not only about receiving information. It is also about becoming clear, balanced, and open enough to receive in a loving way.

Before trying to connect with the spirit world, begin by connecting with yourself. Your own inner peace is the foundation.

Step 2: Understanding Your Psychic Senses

When you begin developing mediumship, it is important to understand how intuitive information naturally comes to you.

Not everyone receives information in the same way. Some people see inner pictures, symbols, colours, or short scenes in their mind. Some people hear words, names, or sentences inwardly. Others feel emotions, energy, or physical sensations in their body. And some people simply know something without knowing how they know it.

These ways of receiving information are often called the psychic senses, or the “clairs.”
The most commonly known ones are clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience, and claircognizance.

Clairvoyance means clear seeing.
This may come as images, symbols, colours, memories, or pictures in your inner mind.

Clairaudience means clear hearing.
This may come as words, names, sounds, or messages that you hear inwardly.

Clairsentience means clear feeling.
This is when you feel emotions, energy, physical sensations, or the presence of someone in spirit.

Claircognizance means clear knowing.
This is when you suddenly know something without having a logical explanation for it.

There are more ways intuitive information can come through, but when you are just beginning, it is helpful not to overwhelm yourself.
Start with the main psychic senses and notice which one feels most natural to you. You may already use one of these senses without realizing it.

Maybe you often say, “I just knew it,” or “I had a feeling,” or “I saw it in my mind.”
These little everyday experiences can give you clues about how your intuition already speaks to you.

For mediumship, it is helpful to become familiar with your strongest psychic sense first.

Over time, the other senses may begin to open more clearly as well. You do not have to force this. Simply observe, practise, and trust the way information naturally comes through for you.

A good beginner exercise is to keep a small intuition journal.
Write down dreams, feelings, inner images, sudden thoughts, synchronicities, or moments when you sensed something before it happened.

Over time, you may begin to see patterns. This can help you understand your own intuitive language.

Step 3: Developing Your Intuition

Intuition is the foundation of psychic and mediumship development.

Before you can trust messages from the spirit world, you first need to understand how your own intuition speaks to you. This means becoming more aware of your thoughts, feelings, body sensations, dreams, inner pictures, and sudden knowing.

One of the most important things is to become an observer of your thoughts.
When you learn to observe your inner world, you begin to notice the difference between a busy mind and a calm intuitive impression.

There are many ways to observe your thoughts. You may begin to notice what comes randomly, what repeats, what feels like an old program, what is truly your own thought, and what may come from someone else’s energy or from spiritual guidance.

Stress can make intuitive work more difficult.
When you are overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally unbalanced, it can be harder to receive clear information.
This is why spiritual development is also inner work. Reiki, meditation, mindfulness, energy healing, and grounding can all help you come back into balance.

A simple way to develop your intuition is to become more aware of your surroundings, your thoughts, and your feelings.
It is all about awareness.

If you have a question in your life, write it down, and then pay attention to the small signs in your daily life.
Notice your dreams, repeated thoughts, synchronicities, sudden feelings, or moments when you simply know something. These little moments can teach you how your intuition already communicates with you.

I also suggest keeping an intuition journal.
Write down your question, and then record what you notice over the next hours or days. You may write down dreams, feelings, inner images, synchronicities, thoughts, memories, and intuitive impressions.

Over time, you may begin to see patterns. You may notice how guidance comes to you, which psychic sense is strongest, and when your intuition feels most accurate.

Developing intuition is not only about becoming psychic or becoming a medium. It is also part of your spiritual healing and self-awareness.
The more you get to know yourself, the easier it becomes to understand what is truly yours and what may be coming from another energy, a spirit guide, or the spiritual realm.
Begin gently. Pay attention. Stay curious. Trust grows through practice and experience.

If you would like to explore this more deeply, I have also created a simple intuition journal template that you can download at the end of this article.

And if you feel ready to go deeper into intuitive development, my course Boost Your Intuition can guide you through practical exercises to understand how your intuition works and how to strengthen your intuitive connection step by step.

Step 4: Protection and Grounding

Protection and grounding are very important when you begin to open your intuition and mediumship abilities.

When you become more sensitive, you may also become more aware of other people’s emotions, energy, or spiritual impressions. This can feel beautiful, but it can also feel overwhelming if you are not grounded.

Grounding helps you stay connected to your body, the present moment, and the earth. It helps you feel more stable, calm, and balanced.
Before you try to connect with the spirit world, it is important to come back to yourself first.

A simple grounding practice is to sit quietly and place your feet on the floor.
Take a few deep breaths and bring your attention to your feet.
Feel the contact with the floor and allow yourself to arrive fully in the present moment.
With every breath, allow yourself to feel more present, steady, and supported.
For many people, this is already enough.
Others like to imagine roots growing from the soles of their feet deep into the earth.

Protection is also important.
This does not need to come from fear.
Spiritual protection can simply be a loving intention that you only connect with energies, guides, and spirit loved ones who come through with love, healing, and respect.
You may imagine yourself surrounded by a sphere of white light.

You can say quietly or in your mind:
“Only love may come in, and only love may go out.”

You can also ask your spirit guides, angels, higher self, or spiritual helpers to support and protect you during your practice.

For me, grounding and protection are not about closing yourself off. They are about creating a clear, safe, and loving space.
When you feel grounded and protected, it becomes easier to receive information without feeling scattered or overwhelmed.

Before any intuitive or mediumship practice, take a moment to breathe, ground, and set your intention. This simple step can make your connection feel much clearer and more peaceful.

Step 5: Practice, Practice, Practice

Mediumship develops through practice, patience, and experience.

You can read about mediumship, take courses, watch other mediums, and learn about the psychic senses, but at some point, you need to practise receiving and sharing information. This is how you begin to understand how your own connection works.

In the beginning, it is helpful to practise with people you trust. You may offer a short intuitive reading to a friend, family member, or someone who understands that you are still learning.

Keep it simple and gentle. You do not have to give a full mediumship reading right away.
You can begin by practising with small impressions.
Notice what comes to you when you sit quietly with someone’s energy. Do you feel something in your body?
Do you see a colour, image, or symbol?
Do you hear a word or name inwardly?
Do you suddenly know something?

It is also helpful to ask for feedback. Feedback teaches you what was accurate, what may have been symbolic, and what you may have misunderstood.

This is not about judging yourself. It is about learning your own intuitive language.

You may also join a development circle, attend workshops, or practise with other people who are learning mediumship.

A supportive practice space can help you build confidence and give you structure.

One important thing is to never force information. Mediumship is not about pushing. It is about becoming present, setting a loving intention, and allowing impressions to come naturally.

Some days the connection may feel stronger, and other days it may feel very quiet. This is normal.

Also remember to respect people’s boundaries. Do not give messages to someone without permission, especially if the message involves grief, loss, or emotional pain.

Mediumship should always be practised with compassion, sensitivity, and respect.

The more you practise, the more you begin to understand how spirit communication feels for you. Over time, you may become more comfortable with the small pieces of information that come through and learn how to share them in a helpful and healing way.

Step 6: Building Confidence and Trust

Confidence in mediumship does not usually appear overnight. It grows slowly through practice, experience, and learning to trust the way information comes to you.

In the beginning, many people doubt themselves. You may receive an impression and immediately wonder, “Is this real, or am I making it up?” This is very normal.

Mediumship information often comes in small pieces, not as a full story. You may receive a feeling, a word, a name, an image, a memory, or a sudden knowing.

At first, these impressions can feel subtle. This is why practice and feedback are so important. When you share what you receive and someone can validate it, you begin to understand how spirit communication feels for you.

Over time, you learn which impressions are accurate, which ones are symbolic, and how your own mind may sometimes try to interpret the information too quickly.

It is also important to understand that no medium is accurate with everything. Mistakes can happen. Sometimes the information is not understood right away. Sometimes the person receiving the reading may not recognize the message in the moment, but it makes sense later. Sometimes you may receive something symbolic and need to learn how to express it more clearly.

If a reading does not go as expected, try not to give up. Mediumship is a learning process. One difficult experience does not mean you have no ability. It simply means you are still learning how to receive, understand, and communicate information in a helpful way. Even experienced mediums do not always understand every message perfectly, and they can make mistakes too. When you see mediums on TV or YouTube and everything looks perfect, trust me, this is not always how it works in real life.

Trust the impressions you receive. The hardest part is often learning how to translate them. This is why, especially in the beginning, it can be better to simply say what you feel, sense, see, hear, or know without trying too quickly to explain the meaning.

True trust comes from awareness, practice, and honesty. You learn to trust what feels calm, clear, and loving. You also learn to recognize when you are overthinking, guessing, or trying too hard.

A helpful practice is to write down your impressions before you judge them. Notice what came first. The first impression is often the clearest.

Then ask yourself: Did it feel calm? Did it come quickly? Did it feel different from ordinary thinking?

The more you practise, the more you will begin to recognize your own intuitive language.

Confidence comes when you stop trying to be perfect and begin to trust the small impressions that unfold naturally.

A simple affirmation you can use is:
I trust my intuition and allow spiritual guidance to unfold with love, clarity, and respect.

Step 7: Ethical Mediumship

Ethics are one of the most important parts of psychic and mediumship development. Mediumship should always be approached with love, compassion, respect, and sensitivity.

When someone comes for a mediumship reading, they may be grieving, vulnerable, or hoping to feel a connection with someone they deeply miss. This is why the way a message is shared matters just as much as the message itself.

A medium should never use fear, pressure, or control. Messages from the spirit world should not make someone feel powerless or dependent. They should bring comfort, healing, understanding, or a deeper sense of peace.

It is also important to respect boundaries. Do not give someone a spirit message without their permission, especially in public or in an emotional situation. Even if you feel you are receiving something, the other person may not be ready to hear it.

A good mediumship reading should be heart-centred. This means you stay aware of the person in front of you, not only the information you are receiving.

Ask yourself:
Is this helpful? Is this kind? Is this respectful? Could this bring healing? It is also important to be honest.

If something is not clear, say that it is not clear.
If you are still learning, say that you are still practising.
You do not have to pretend to know everything. Integrity builds trust.

Mediumship is not about showing how gifted you are. It is about being of service. It is about creating a safe space where spiritual connection can unfold gently and where the person receiving the message feels respected and supported.

The more you develop your abilities, the more important it becomes to stay grounded, humble, and compassionate.
Your spiritual growth and your personal healing are part of your responsibility as a medium.

Always remember: the intention behind mediumship should be healing.

A Simple Beginner Guide to Practising a Mediumship Reading

After learning the basic foundations of mediumship, you may wonder how to actually begin practising a simple mediumship reading. The best way is, of course, to learn in a mediumship course or development circle. But maybe you cannot do this at the moment for any reason. So here I want to share a simple way you can begin practising gently.

I suggest doing your first readings with someone you trust. Choose someone where you feel safe enough to be wrong and where you will not feel judged. Make sure the person understands that this is only for practice.

A mediumship reading can be simple, gentle, and short. Here I will share how I personally begin. This is not the only way to do it, but it is a structure you may like to try.

1. Prepare Yourself and the Person You Are Reading For
First, I start in a relaxed way. I like to make the space as comfortable as possible, almost as if I am inviting another friend to join the meeting, but I do not yet know who will come through.

I may imagine myself surrounded by light and say:
“I ask to be guided with love, clarity, and respect. May this connection bring healing and comfort.”

After that, I bring my awareness into my body. I feel my feet, my breath, and the present moment. I call this grounding.

I pay attention to myself and notice my body, my feelings, my inner pictures, my thoughts, and anything else that comes into my awareness.

From this moment on, I set the intention that everything I feel, sense, notice, remember, or think has something to do with the mediumship reading and the loved one in spirit. I take a deep breath and say inwardly, “Now.”

2. Set a Clear Intention
Some people like to connect with a loved one in spirit by using a picture. You can hold or look at the picture and notice what impressions come to you.

I personally like to leave it open at first and see who comes through.
Sometimes I imagine a stage, like in a theatre, and I invite spirit to come forward onto the stage.
As soon as I sense someone coming forward, I begin to notice my impressions. Is the person older or younger? Do they feel male or female? What is their energy like? What do I see, feel, hear, or know?

When I say “see,” I do not mean seeing with my physical eyes. My eyes may even be open. I mean seeing with the inner eye, through imagination, symbols, impressions, or inner pictures.

If the person receiving the reading does not know right away who this could be, I still continue to share what I receive.

3. Notice the First Impressions
Then I say what comes. This is important, because very often we are not sure and we do not want to say what we are aware of.
But because I already set the intention that everything coming through now has something to do with the reading,

I try not to judge the impressions too quickly. If I do not see anything,

I ask myself:
Do I feel something in my body?
Do I see an image, colour, or symbol in my mind?
Do I hear a word or name inwardly?
Do I suddenly know something?
Do I feel an emotion that does not seem to be mine?
Where does my attention want to go?

In the beginning, the first impressions may feel very small. This is normal.

4. Share What You Receive
Then I share the information gently and simply.
I do not need to understand everything right away. It is often better to say what I receive before trying to explain the meaning.

For example, I might say:
“I am sensing a gentle female energy.”
“I keep seeing flowers.”
“I suddenly remember my own grandmother right now, but I do not know why.”
“I feel a warm feeling around the heart.”
“I hear the name Mary, or something that sounds like Mary.”
“I do not know what this means, but I am seeing a kitchen table.”

This gives the other person space to recognize the information.

Sometimes they may understand it right away. Sometimes it may make sense later.

I simply notice what comes and say it out loud, even if I doubt myself. This is practice, and practice is allowed to be imperfect.

You can say:
“I do not know what this means, but I see...”
“I feel...” “I sense...”
“Do you have an idea what this could mean?”

5. Ask for Evidence
Then I ask for evidence. Evidence is one of the most important parts of a mediumship reading.

When I feel connected to a spirit or loved one who has passed, I often ask directly if they can give me some kind of proof for the person I am reading for. This should be something I could not know.

For example, I may see a garden with many flowers. When I share this, the person may say, “Yes, my grandmother had a flower garden and she was very proud of it.”

This kind of detail can become evidence. It helps the person receiving the reading feel that the connection is real and personal. Just saying, “Your grandmother loves you,” may be comforting, but it is not strong evidence by itself.

A name, memory, personality trait, favourite place, object, habit, or specific detail can often bring more recognition and healing.

6. Do Not Force the Meaning
Then I remind myself not to force the meaning.
One of the biggest beginner mistakes is trying too hard to interpret everything.

Mediumship information often comes in pieces. A symbol, feeling, name, memory, or image may not make sense to you, but it may mean something to the person receiving the reading.

Instead of forcing a meaning, I stay open and curious. I share what I receive and allow the connection to unfold naturally.

And really, if nothing comes, I say that honestly. I may pause, breathe, and maybe ask if another spirit would like to come forward.

I also pay attention to where my focus goes. For example, maybe I suddenly feel drawn to look at my shoes. I notice that and say it. Maybe the loved one in spirit loved shoes, worked with shoes, bought special shoes, or there is a memory connected to shoes. You never know.

This is all about awareness. You follow your senses and gently say what you notice.

7. Ask for Feedback
Then I ask for feedback.  Feedback is helpful when you are learning.

You can ask the person:
“Does this make sense to you?”
“Can you place this information?”
“Does this remind you of someone?”

If they say no, do not panic. Simply continue gently or let the information go. Sometimes it may not be understood in the moment. Sometimes it makes sense later. And sometimes beginners may misinterpret what they receive. This is part of learning.

8. Close the Reading
When I feel the reading is complete, I take a moment to close the connection.
Often I feel this when nothing more is coming through, or when the energy begins to feel quiet.

I thank the spirit world, my guides, and the loved ones who came forward. Then I take a deep breath, knowing that this experience is now complete and that I am no longer holding the connection.

I feel my feet on the floor and ground myself again.

You may say:
“Thank you for the guidance, healing, and connection. I now close this reading with love and respect.”

9. Write Down What Happened
After the practice reading, I suggest writing down what you received and what feedback you were given. This helps you learn how information comes to you. Over time, you may begin to notice patterns.

Maybe you receive names through clairaudience, emotions through clairsentience, or images through clairvoyance. Your notes can help you build trust in your own mediumship language.

A Reminder
Mediumship is not about being perfect. It is about learning to become a clear, compassionate, and respectful channel for healing. Begin with short practice sessions, stay grounded, and do not pressure yourself to receive dramatic messages.

The more gently you practise, the more naturally your connection can grow.

Final Thoughts

Developing psychic mediumship skills is a journey. It is not something that needs to be rushed, forced, or made perfect. Start gently.

Learn to become aware of your thoughts, your feelings, your body, your energy, and the subtle impressions that come through.

Practise grounding, meditation, and self-awareness. Learn to trust your intuition step by step. Mediumship is not only about receiving messages from the spirit world.

It is also about healing, compassion, sensitivity, and learning to become a clear and respectful channel for love and connection.

If you feel called to this path, trust that it will unfold in the right way and at the right time. Sometimes one small step leads to another.

You may begin with Reiki, meditation, intuition work, journaling, or spiritual healing, and over time you may notice that your connection becomes clearer.

Be patient with yourself. Stay grounded. Keep your heart open. And remember that your own spiritual healing is part of the path.

I wish you love and light on your journey. Daniela

If You Feel Drawn to Healing Mediumship

Another path that connects beautifully with mediumship is Trance Healing.

Trance Healing is a form of mediumship with a focus on spiritual healing. Instead of giving messages in the same way as a traditional mediumship reading, the practitioner opens to healing energy and spiritual support so that healing can flow through in a loving and respectful way.

If you feel especially drawn to healing, energy work, and spiritual connection, Trance Healing may be a beautiful next step after building your intuitive foundation.
