Learn how Reiki Level 2 practitioners can send distance Reiki to the future, past situations, inner child healing, and personal support through a Reik
Reiki Level 2 opens the door to many beautiful possibilities.
Once you learn distance Reiki, you are no longer limited to sending Reiki only with your hands in the present moment. You can also send Reiki to yourself, to future events, to past situations, and even to parts of yourself that still need healing.
This is something worth exploring, especially if you are already a Reiki Level 2 practitioner.
I wanted to write this article because I often noticed something in my face-to-face Reiki courses. Sometimes students came to me because they wanted to become Reiki Master and Teacher, but they had learned Reiki Level 2 from another teacher and did not realize how many possibilities Reiki Level 2 can offer.
At the same time, I have also learned beautiful ideas from my students — ideas I had not even thought about before.
So let’s explore this together, either as a gentle refresher or as inspiration for your own Reiki practice.
Have you ever wished you could support yourself before an important event?
Maybe you have a court date, an exam, a difficult conversation, a medical appointment, a job interview, or another situation where you would like to feel calm, grounded, relaxed, and focused.
With Reiki Level 2, you can send Reiki ahead of time to that specific event.
Your intention could be something like this:
May I receive Reiki during this event on ______ at ______ in the way that supports my highest good.
May I feel calm, clear, protected, grounded, and focused.
You are not trying to control the outcome. You are simply sending Reiki energy to support yourself through the situation.
Of course, when you feel calmer, clearer, and more balanced, this may also have a positive effect on how you experience the situation.
For this practice, you can use the Reiki symbols to connect with the event, set your intention, and then let the Reiki energy flow in the way you have learned.
If I have a specific event coming up, I like to check in with it more than once.
For example, I imagine myself already being there in the future. Then I become aware of how I feel. If I notice that I still feel stressed, tense, or not fully calm, I send Reiki again.
I may do this every day until the event happens. Sometimes I even do it shortly before the event.
Personally, I do not send Reiki directly to the other people involved unless they have asked for it or agreed to it. I send Reiki to myself and to the situation, with the intention that everything unfolds for the highest good.
You can also include gratitude. Gratitude is a very strong energy, especially when it comes from the heart.
Have you ever tried to create a Reiki “depot” for yourself?
Some people may also think of this as a Reiki energy reserve, a healing bank, a Reiki box, or even something similar to a Chi ball. The idea is that you send Reiki into an energetic space or container, with the intention that you can receive this Reiki when you need it.
I have done this many times, not only with Reiki but also with other energy healing systems.
And honestly, I still sometimes find it a bit strange to take that time just for myself. Maybe you can relate to this too. Many of us are so used to helping others that we forget to give ourselves the same care.
For me, a Reiki depot feels a little like a cosmic healing bank. I create it with the intention that Reiki is available for me when I need support.
This can be a lovely self-care practice.
Of course, you can still use Reiki Level 1 in the traditional way by placing your hands on your heart, your body, or wherever you feel called to send Reiki. I do this often too.
But I wanted to share the Reiki depot idea because it is something you may want to try, especially if you already work with Reiki Level 2 and distance healing.
Reiki allows room for creativity, and your intuition can guide you.
My Reiki teacher also gave us a beautiful suggestion: if you have pain or discomfort somewhere in the body that is hard to reach with your hands, you can send distance Reiki to that area instead.
What a great idea. Reiki Level 2 gives us creative ways to support ourselves, and this is definitely something worth trying.
When I learned Reiki Level 2 many years ago, we also practiced healing the inner child.
I do not know if you learned this in your Reiki training, or if you have ever considered trying it, but I believe it can be one of the most important healing practices we can do.
Even if we had a beautiful childhood, there may still be moments that need healing. Maybe there was bullying at school, a time when we felt alone, a painful moment during puberty, or a situation where we did not feel seen, heard, or supported.
You can also send Reiki to a past situation that still feels painful, unresolved, or heavy.
This does not change what happened. But it may help bring healing, peace, compassion, and release to the part of you that experienced it.
And inner child healing is not the only way to work with the past. You can also send Reiki to situations from your teenage years, adulthood, relationships, difficult conversations, grief, stress, or any memory that still carries emotional weight.
And yes, if you believe in past lives, you can also include past-life healing in this practice. Whether you see it as a true past-life memory, a symbolic image, or an intuitive feeling, Reiki can be sent with the intention of healing, peace, and release for your highest good.
We all can use some spiritual healing.
You could send Reiki to:
Your intention could be simple:
I send Reiki healing to the part of me that experienced ______ when I was ______.
May this energy support peace, healing, compassion, and release, for my highest good.
This can be a very gentle and meaningful way to work with Reiki.
Reiki Level 2 is a wonderful step because it expands your practice.
You learn how to send Reiki at a distance, and this opens the door to working with time, intention, situations, and deeper self-healing.
There is so much room for creativity.
With Reiki Level 2, you can explore how to:
The important thing is to work with a clear intention, an open heart, and respect for Reiki.
Have you ever seen videos on social media where someone says they are sending Reiki to you through the video?
I sometimes wonder about this because, in many cases, they do not know who is receiving the Reiki or who will watch the video later.
Personally, I stay open to the possibility because, with energy work, many things may be possible. I also feel that Reiki is something we often understand more deeply through our own practice and experience than through theory alone.
Maybe you have your own experience with this. Maybe it feels supportive to you, or maybe you are still curious about how it works.
Either way, I think it is an interesting topic to reflect on. Reiki has a way of inviting us to explore, practice, and discover what feels true through experience.
If you are already attuned to Reiki Level 2, sending Reiki across time and space is a beautiful practice to explore.
If you have not learned Reiki Level 2 yet, you would first need Reiki Level 1. Reiki Level 1 teaches the foundation of Reiki and hands-on healing. Reiki Level 2 then introduces distance healing, Reiki symbols, and many new ways to work with Reiki energy.
You can learn Reiki Level 2 in person or online, as long as the course includes proper teaching, practice, and attunement.
Reiki is simple, but it can also be very deep. The more you practice, the more you discover what is possible.
I have personally learned many different healing methods over the years. There are so many beautiful systems out there. But I often come back to Reiki, and I also like to combine Reiki with other methods when it feels right.
Yes, you can do that.
This is an interesting question.
Can someone send distance healing without Reiki Level 2? I believe yes, distance healing itself is possible in many ways.
Can someone call it distance Reiki without being attuned to Reiki Level 2? That is harder to say.
Reiki Level 2 traditionally works with specific symbols that help the practitioner connect, focus, and send Reiki at a distance. These symbols have been used by many Reiki practitioners around the world, and I believe this gives them a strong energetic presence.
When you work with the Reiki symbols, they help you focus your intention. They help you stay present. They help you return to the healing instead of becoming distracted by thoughts.
But if someone is grounded, clear, focused, and able to hold a strong healing intention, distance healing can still be powerful. Maybe it cannot always be called Reiki in the traditional sense, but healing energy can still be sent with love, prayer, intention, and focus.
In the end, experience teaches us a lot.
A friend once said something to me — not about Reiki, but about energy and thoughts:
You have to do it to understand.
I think this applies here too.

Sending Reiki to yourself across time and space is a gentle and powerful practice.
Try it with curiosity.
Try it with trust.
Try it for a future event, a past memory, or a moment when you need extra support.
You could even try sending Reiki to money matters, business worries, or situations where you feel uncertain. I may try this myself again, because writing this article just inspired me too.
You know how it is these days for small businesses. It can be challenging. I probably do not need to explain that.
Reiki Level 2 gives you many beautiful tools, and your creativity can really begin to play.
I send lots of blessings to you.
Love and Light,
from my heart to yours,
Daniela
